The Alabama Public Library Service is offering an innovative new after-school program designed to help Alabama students with their homework. And best of all, it's free. Homework Alabama, an internet-based tutorial service using instant messaging technology to help students in Math, Science, Social Studies and English, is assessable at www.homeworkalabama.org bringing convenience and expertise to local libraries or home of students. Highly qualified specialists in the various fields of study are available to answer student questions seven days a week, from 3 p.m. until midnight. Tutors have a target session length of about 20 minutes; however there is no specific time limit on a session length. Students can access the site as often as they need to, there's no limit on the number of sessions allowed for each student. All tutors are certified teachers, college professors and graduate students who have undergone criminal background checks and certification through Tutor.com training program.
