Visit Your Child's School!
Parents are encouraged to visit their child(ren)'s school, become acquainted with their teachers, and play an even bigger role in the academic success and social well-being of their child.  Once again, October is set aside for even more parents and guardians to be recognized for the tireless duty of raising a child. As this year's theme, Celebrating Parents - A Child's Lifetime Teacher, denotes, parents play a most vital role in their child's education, in and out of school.

Judy Bohannon, parenting and mentoring specialist, said the correlation between parent involvement and student achievement is evident. "Parent involvement is not just about volunteering anymore; it's about parents learning about what they can do at home to help their child to succeed not only in school but in life."
